Here is a link to the registration page as well as more information on what we will share during those three magical weekends!
We invite you to come share with us the art of Thai massage at the Central Florida School of Massage Therapy in Winter Park, Florida! We will be offering a 3 level certification in traditional Thai massage techniques in March and April of 2017.
Perhaps you may have experienced a Thai massage already, and perhaps you know a little of the underlying philosophy. If not well, I’ll briefly share from my my perspective what it is. As a healing practice Thai massage helps rebalance the body and mind through a series of stretches paired with compression massage from the tips of the toes to the top of the head in a rhythmic way which is both soothing and therapeutic, and at the same time induces both giver and receiver into a meditative state. The space from which Thai massage is shared is just as important as the massage itself, as what is shared is a deep sense of awareness, concentration, focus, equanimity and most importantly Metta (loving kindness for all sentient beings). This last part is what makes this whole practice so powerful, as the intention through the entire session is that of sharing love and compassion through the vehicle of therapeutic touch.
I have taken a long-term study with my mentor Ariela Grodner director of the Bodhi Sangha School of Thai Massage in Gainesville, FL who has taught me most of what I know in Thai massage and through this constant participation I have gained the experience to share this practice in the same lineage as it has been shared with me. By the time the courses in 2017 are ready to be taught I will also have completed a 300-hour teacher training in Chiang Mai, Thailand with the Thai Massage School of Chiang Mai (TCM). I’ve been practicing this art for over 5 years and have been teaching it for 3. I’ve taught in both English and Spanish in the US and abroad in Latin America.
It will be my pleasure to share this art with you,
Maria Farfan
